The electronic cigarette was introduced in the US market in 2007 and positioned as tobacco replacement for nicotine-dependent smokers.
According to studies conducted by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, one out of five adult smokers in the United States have tried electronic cigarettes in 2011. This is 21% of the adult smoking population, which is about 6% of the total adult population in USA. Public health authorities of the United States reported that nearly 3 million of smokers in the past two years, quit smoking tobacco cigarettes after switching to electronic cigarettes.
The American e-cigarette market is one of the most developed in the world, it has a lot of local producers, electronic cigarettes are sold freely over the Internet as well as through regular stores.
Some US states have introduced taxes on e-cigarettes which contain nicotine, but most of these cigarettes are outdated models that have been used previously. Therefore, this decision didn’t affect the sales of e-cigarettes and slightly increased the cost of the e-liquids. Electronic cigarettes in the US are still possible to use everywhere, special rules doesn’t exist, electronic cigarette can be used both indoors and outdoors.
CIS
In the CIS countries electronic cigarettes are not prohibited. Only Russia has a controversial law that prohibits nicotine substitutes like regular cigarettes. This formulation does not prohibit electronic cigarettes because they are not like regular cigarettes – it’s 95% all model. Electronic cigarettes are sold freely in the CIS countries as in online stores, as in retail stores.
But in some countries of CIS, there are some rules for their use, which limit the use of electronic cigarettes in public places. In Ukraine, the term “electronic cigarettes” is found in the law banning of propaganda and prevention of the proliferation of tobacco products.
Each of course decides for himself to use or not electronic cigarette. According to experience of many vapers, clouds of vapors can cause amazement to the people around. But after explaining what is electronic cigarette, they stop paying attention. In general, electronic cigarettes exhibit rapid and significant growth because of their many advantages.Perhaps they will soon completely removed conventional tobacco cigarettes.
